US National Whitewater Center

Looking for the ultimate outdoor recreation? This is the spot! The US National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is full of outdoor activities that allow visitors to remain in their comfort zone or stretch to new horizons. And if you would rather watch thanWhitewater Center Ropes Course participate, no problem! Unlike traditional theme parks that force visitors to buy an entrance ticket, the USNWC fees are pay to play. At $5 per car load, the entrance fee is nominal. Once inside, you can choose to purchase individual activities or purchase a full-day, all-inclusive pass.

Activities include zip lines, ropes courses, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and of course rafting, kayaking and even paddle boarding! The hiking trails are open to everyone and there are several vista points for watching rafters and those participating in the outdoor courses.

Onsite is a restaurant with great food, a huge deck and an extensive microbrew beer list. The Whitewater Center also hosts outdoor concerts and even “Brews Cruises” throughout the summer.

This is one of those places I eagerly look forward to taking anyone who visits us in Charlotte – there is something for everyone! Even kiddos can get in on the action with activities for ages 4 and up.
